Specialising in Bridal Makeup Artistry and Hairstyling, we offer a range of services for any occasion.
Impress sees makeup as the ultimate way to create a fashion statement and express yourself as the unique individual that you are. Beauty looks and trends are constantly changing, it is important to keep up to date with these changes. Impress attends ongoing training and professional workshops to up-skill and perfect their craft.
The way you look can have an emotional impact. Beauty services can help with physical appearance which then helps with inner confidence and feeling better physically and psychologically. Impress is here to enhance your natural beauty and help advice and educate clients on current trends, beauty, and general skincare principles and procedures.
As a pro artist, Impress loves connecting and collaborating for high end fashion events and any other aspects of the industry. Impress not only promotes services, but is created and designed with a vision to encourage new artists to follow their dreams by offering hands on experience working or assisting alongside a pro artist, where our MUA queen Shandy will be able to guide, support and help turn their passion into a career. Impress loves to meet other professionals in the industry to collaborate with, where we get the chance to come together to organise and create something beautiful. Impress provides professional hairstyling alongside makeup and cosmetic application to clients for various occasions - which include weddings, festivals, graduations, school formals, fashion and photography. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and accuracy, and the important ability to work and perform well independently as well as alongside others to create inspiring looks.
Impress is owned and run by Shandy Olsen - with a comprehensive background and extensive experience working in high-profile fashion events, she is excited to bring her skills into the bridal community, offering timeless makeup and elegant hairstyling to match.

About Shandy
OWNER & DIRECTOR OF IMPRESS BEAUTY
Hey beautiful! Kia Ora, Fakaalofalahi atu, my name is Shandy, the owner and lead artist at Impress Beauty. I am a creative professional offering well developed artistic skills, certified through the Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology as a Beauty specialist and Cosmetologist, Makeup Artistry at Lilybeth Makeup School, Toi Ohomai and SRA Academy, and Hairstyling at Belles and Brides Academy.
I am a wife to an amazing, supportive husband who is too following his own dreams in the health and fitness industry and a mother to our 2 beautiful little girls. Our family reside in the beautiful Bay of Plenty overlooking the most stunning view of Tauranga.
I started following my passion through the Lilybeth Makeup School specialising in bridal, from there I went into the fashion community and became a supporter and sponsor of the NZ Beauty Pageant.
I created IMPRESS not only to promote my own services, but to uplift and empower other women and as a foundation to uplift future artists. With my connections, I am willing and able to pull others up in the industry. Whether to assist alongside me, or tag along and watch as I work, my Impress students get real knowledge, real experience and inside views of working behind the scenes with a pro artist.
I personally know how hard it can be to get somewhere without a helping hand, having to learn the hard way which can be a very slow process. I would ask other makeup professionals for advice only to get no reply. A big thank you to Kharl Wirepa Fashion, for leading my business into the fashion industry, allowing me to grow and expand.

My passion and determination to succeed overcame every struggle I had faced. I saw each challenge as an opportunity and although I would feel doubt, fear and disbelief, I stayed in control and focused on living my dream. Impress encourages new artists who are in a similar boat to follow their dreams, with real, honest advice, guidance and hands on experience to help turn their passion into a career.
