We provide professional hairstyling alongside makeup and cosmetic application to clients for various occasions - which include weddings, festivals, graduations, school formals, fashion and photography.

About Impress
Impress is owned and run by Shandy Olsen – Qualified in skincare specialist and cosmetologist through Toi-Ohomai Tauranga, makeup artist and hairstylist through Servilles Academy in Auckland and Belles and Brides Academy in Hamilton as well as extended national and international makeup and hairstyling masterclasses within the industry learning only from the best.
With a comprehensive background and extensive experience working in high-profile events, bridal, fashion and photography, she is excited to bring her skills to you, offering timeless makeup and elegant hairstyling to match.
We make sure to consider your face shape, features and skin tone, and then select the perfect products and colours to create a look that's uniquely tailored to you. We listen to your preferences and take everything into consideration when working with you to create a look you love, so that you look and feel like the absolute best version of yourself on one of the most important days of your life.

OWNER & DIRECTOR OF IMPRESS
Hey beautiful!
My name is Shandy, the owner and lead artist at Impress Beauty. I am a creative professional offering well developed artistic skills, certified through the Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology as a Beauty specialist and Cosmetologist, Makeup Artistry at Lillybeth Makeup School, SRA Academy and Servilles Academy in Auckland, and Hairstyling at Belles and Brides Academy in Hamilton.
I am a mother to 2 beautiful little girls. Our family reside in the beautiful Bay of Plenty overlooking the most stunning view of Tauranga.
I started following my passion through the Lilybeth Makeup School specialising in bridal, from there I went into the fashion community and became a supporter and sponsor of the NZ Beauty Pageant. I have worked in film, photography, fashion, and weddings.
I offer freelance/mobile service where I come to you, or my studio is based in the beautiful Papamoa where you are welcome to come to me for your hair and makeup services.

My passion and determination to succeed overcame every struggle I had faced. I saw each challenge as an opportunity and although I would feel doubt, fear and disbelief, I stayed in control and focused on living my dream. Impress encourages new artists to follow their dreams, with real, honest advice, guidance and hands on experience to help turn their passion into a career.

I created IMPRESS not only to promote my own services, but to uplift and empower other women and as a foundation to uplift future artists. With my connections, I am willing and able to pull others up in the industry. Whether to assist alongside me, or tag along and watch as I work, my Impress students get real knowledge, real experience and inside views of working behind the scenes with a pro artist. Through this wonderful experience, my students get the opportunity to undergo further training and become part of the Impress team.
